Rivet Processing
Hongji leverages its sophisticated punching equipment and deep technical expertise to provide customers with efficient and precise punch rivet processing services. Riveting is an essential component assembly process in many industries. By applying pressure through a punching machine, rivets can be bonded to components in a variety of ways, creating a secure and permanent mechanical connection.
Leveraging our vertically integrated process from mold development to post-production integration, Hongji offers a one-stop rivet processing solution for your product, encompassing services from initial consultation, mold design, punching and riveting, to final quality inspection.
Core Rivet Processing Services
Our punch rivet processing services primarily utilize the pressure characteristics of a punching machine, combined with precision-designed molds, to perform various riveting operations. Services include:

Punching and Riveting Integration
We can integrate the punching and feed riveting processes within a continuous stamping die. As the part is being stamped, pre-rivet holes are automatically punched. An automatic feeding system delivers the rivet into position before the punch press presses down to complete the riveting.
Application Advantages: Significantly improves production efficiency, reduces labor costs, and ensures precise positioning of holes and rivets, making it particularly suitable for high-volume production.

Press Riveting
For applications requiring the pressing of nuts, studs, or specialized rivets into sheet metal, we utilize presses in a range of tonnages (15 to 110 tons) to provide stable pressure control, precisely pressing and securing rivet parts (such as nuts and screws) into the workpiece.
Application Advantages: Providing stable torque and pull-out force, it is ideal for applications requiring high-strength threads or locating points in thin sheet metal, making it an ideal alternative to welding. Our engineering team will set the optimal press pressure and stroke based on sheet metal thickness, hardness, and rivet specifications to prevent workpiece deformation or weak rivets.

Self-pierce riveting
For industries with specialized needs, such as the automotive and aerospace industries, Hongji can introduce advanced self-pierce riveting technology. This technology eliminates the need for pre-punching. The rivet directly penetrates the upper sheet under strong pressure and is forced open by the lower die, forming a mechanically interlocking rivet point with the lower sheet.
Application Advantages: It can join dissimilar metals (such as aluminum and steel). The process is cold-joined, without damaging the material's coating or heat treatment. It is particularly suitable for lightweight structures and high-strength connections.

Customized Rivet Die Development
One of our core strengths lies in our in-house die design and development. Our technical team can design specialized rivet dies tailored to a customer's specific rivet type, size, or workpiece structure, ensuring a stable riveting process and high-quality finished products.
